You are making the assumption that Republicans ARE conservative.
I think that is the mistake many are making these days.
A Conservative would not sign onto a bill that gives direct payments to people, and call it a stimulus. It’s a hand out. I am sorry if you are unemployed, but giving you a cash payment every week does nothing to “stimulate” anything but the recipient. .
No, I have no delusions at all about where most Republicans stand politically.
I vote conservative in every election and that is usually also the Republican candidate, too, but I realize that that’s because there is no one else for the conservative party to endorse that any further right that a wishy washy republican.
