Trump-Backed Bill Hagerty Seeks to Complete President’s Perfect Record in 2020 Senate Primaries

But Sethis narrative began crumbling after a Breitbart News investigation uncovered that his entire senior campaign staff was comprised of Never Trump political consultants. His campaigns general consultant, his campaign manger, and his campaign chairmanas well as his highest-profile in-state endorsement former U.S. Rep. Zach Wamp (R-TN)are all devout Never Trumpers. Sethi has never addressed this and refused, with the exception of providing a generic statement to Breitbart News from a low-level press staffer, to cooperate with the story or answer any questions about it.

Most Tennessee FReepers are supporting Manny Sethi over Bill Hagerty. There are reasons for that.

I don’t live in Tennessee and find this primary to be an enigma that can’t be resolved by merely reading the differing posts on FR. That’s a bit surprising.

Would you mind telling us what those reasons are, b/c the breitbart story is a huge ‘hitpiece’...

"I dont live in Tennessee and find this primary to be an enigma that cant be resolved by merely reading the differing posts on FR. Thats a bit surprising."I do live in Tennessee. And I agree with you. To many Rand Paul and Ted Cruz fans here. I remember when FR was saying Trump wasn't a conservative. And don't get me going on FR's response to the virus.
There wasn't much difference in the stated positions of either candidate. Neither was as strong on Tariffs as I would like to have seen, but the rest of their positions were okay.
Both are engaged in Character assassination.
For me it came down to:
- Trump strongly endorsed Hagerty. And Hagerty served a couple of roles for Trump both in his first campaign and as ambassador to Japan.
- Hagerty has a lot of political experience. Manny has none.
Not sure what game Rand Paul and Ted Cruz are playing but I don't think it is in Trump's best interest.

For want of time, I’ll just repost what I said elsewhere. Much more could be said:
Those who know both Sethi and Hagerty say that Sethi is the more conservative. Hagerty has been running a lot of attack ads at the last minute that are not exactly truthful, or at least dont tell the whole story. For example, he accuses Sethi of bankrolling liberal Democrats. The truth seems to be that, a number of years ago, Sethi gave $50 to a friend of his wife who was running for Congress. Hagerty doesnt mention that he himself gave at least $1000 to Al Gore and $100,000 to Mitt Romney. This is just a sampling of the scurrilous, last minute attacks. Hagerty also contended that Sethi didnt contribute to Donald Trump. However Sethi did give $10,000 to Donald Trump from an account that he controlled. It was just not his personal bank account. At the same time, Hagerty was campaigning for Jeb Bush and later for Marco Rubio. He didnt campaign for Donald Trump until much later. Hagerty seemed to think that he was entitled to the seat, and scarcely showed up at any events until he realized that the race was beginning to get neck and neck. Many conservatives who have met with him dont seem too impressed.

I’ll post it here. But there is also a video at the link.
“Donald Trump Jr., the presidents eldest son, on Monday named Hagerty his candidate of the week drawing focus from the Trump family onto the presidents pick in the primary.
Bill Hagerty has been a supporter of my father since before it was politically expedient, Trump Jr. told Breitbart News. Others like to talk the talk, but Bill has always walked the walk in support of our conservative America First agenda. In the Senate, hell stand up to the Democrats and Never Trumpers and will fight to secure the border, hold China accountable and protect our precious constitutional rights.

Actually there is a not more from Donald Trump Jr, VP Pence, and Donald Trump in the Article.
If I wasn’t 100% convinced before voting for Hagerty, I am now.
We don’t need candidates like Manny back by never trumpers and opposition candidates trying to build a power base for themselves.

Did you intend to write a lot more instead of a not more? I found a tiny bit of information here about the Conservative Outsider PAC that's opposing Hagerty. Maybe there's more info out there, somewhere.

Thanks! Everyone should follow the link in the post above this thread to read what President Trump, his son and VP Pence had to say.
Here's a little more info that I found. I can't vouch for or against it, but it's interesting. It alleges that another Libertarian PAC that's opposing Hagerty has worked against President Trump elsewhere.

Uh-oh. Tennessee is under attack from the crypto-lefties in western states. Which reminds me of quite a few freaks "high" on the Rockies talking about migrating to TN. Don't know why they picked TN to infiltrate. Another one of the organizations opposing Hagerty...

Not at all. Hagerty is the 100% phony who lied to the President about his decades of support for the Derp State, including Al Gore, Willard the Rat, McQueeg, etc.
Bad, bad candidate.

It’s called “endorsing the Conservative”, Danny. What’s YOUR game in endorsing the fraud who gave big $$ to Al Gore ?
