Wow, wait until she gets a load of the sight of lines of soldiers with rifles on their shoulders, protecting property (and probably not just governmental).

Hope she doesn’t commit any crimes while she’s there. I’m sure she won’t like the jails over there.

Wow, wait until she gets a load of the sight of lines of soldiers with rifles on their shoulders, protecting property (and probably not just governmental).

About 25 years ago our family grown kids were out state and working (no grandkids yet). Ny wife and I had a timeshare to go to Puerto Vallarta’, Mexico the last week in November.

We really enjoyed it, and never felt in danger. Then things changed quickly, and we felt uncomfortable. So we traded for another coastal town, and felt the same threats.

So then, we went on a couple cruises to western Mexico coastal towns, and were advised not to even go to visit to do shore stuff on the last 2 cruises.

That stopped after 3 cruises with the armed guards everywhere. On the last one we were on a whale watching cruise on a whale watching boat. They got a radio call telling them to bring us directly to the ship and not go into the port.

Our cruise ship was out of the port and basically doing small circles in the ocean, when the various smaller craft like ours came into unload their tourists on the port side onto a portable download landing pier attached to the ship. Fortunately the wind was calm and everyone got off the small boats and onto the portable pier and up to the mainship. The owner of the whale watching boat was irate and scared. He said that criminals were stalking the small boats and robbing passengers.

Fortunately, everyone got back to and up the side of the cruise ship. When the last passenger was up on the main deck and the temp boat lander was hoisted up.

The captain took us out of port at flank speed until we got into seas off the US coast.

Later at dinner and a couple of comped champagnes, my wife asked what was happening.

I told her the ship’s captain had gotten some hot intel to get out of there.

I told her about a similar get of Dodge, while on active duty in the Navy. We were visiting Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic in 1962. We got a hot TS message to get out of there. We found everyone but an ensign. He was not a rookie and spoke Spanish. We were leaving and their coast guard said they would bring him out if we went out to the coastal limit and basically stayed there.

We left port and got outside the territorial limit, and another SD coastie ship was there signaled us to stay on her starboard /seward side. We did,

About an hour later, an another one of their coasties came up with our ensign. We got him on board and headed back to Gitmo.

A couple of years later while on active reserve, a group of SecGroupers were discussing things beyond normal. I brought up the get of out Santa Domingo.

One of the chiefs in that group said that our buddie Che had ordered a hit on our crew. That message was intercepted/decoded and we were warned to get out of Dodge.
