And a mistake by a cop can cost his own life.
My oldest son is a young rookie cop and his uncle a retired cop of 35 yrs. begged him, pleaded with him and begged me don’t let him become a cop. He told my son the left hates you period, some conservatives hate you because they expect perfection 24/7/52 which is not possible for any human and will turn on you at the drop of a hat and throw you under the bus for an honest mistake.
Very few citizens actually are grateful and if you make a mistake big or small both sides will crucify you based on media reports before the full story can come out. And if you do make a mistake and own up to it they will not accept an apology and yet when it hits the fan they expect you to show up and help them.
