And recovered the next day. Sounds more like a major-league screw up by the police record-keeping. But that's only part of the problem. The police were correct in the license plate number when they stopped the car. But the plate in question was for a motorcycle registered in Montana and not a minivan registered in Colorado. Not a shining moment for the Aurora Police Department under any circumstances.
