As technology improves, what is considered private will be tested but If you are carrying your cell phone, it’s pinging and telling cell towers, “G Larry was here.” It would be the same as you writing on a wall that you were there, and anyone would be able to see that. There is no reason police couldn’t look at that writing as well, it is public. In this case they simulate a cell tower and your phone comes to them. Businesses are already doing the same thing, my wife’s company makes light fixtures that do similar things. I don’t see how looking into a crowd to see who is there is a violation of anyone’s rights.
