President Trump, in a wide-ranging interview with "Axios on HBO" that aired Monday night, refused to praise late civil rights icon and Rep. John Lewis, citing Lewis' decision not to attend his inauguration and State of the Union speeches.
Interviewer Jonathan Swan repeatedly challenged Trump on topics ranging from the increasing number of coronavirus cases when he held his indoor and largely maskless rally in Tulsa, Okla., to Afghanistan to mail-in voting. Swan also asked Trump his opinion of Lewis.
"John Lewis is lying in state at the U.S. Capitol. How do you think history will remember John Lewis?" Swan asked Trump.

Hey Bert my only answer to you is I dont deal with small minded people. So go back in the closet and play with yourself.
Stop that. Don’t be a liberal who spews intolerance.
Im not a liberal.
Im not spewing intolerance. Ive responded to more than one of Doodledawgs DU style posts.
And I really dont care a bit about your demands to Stop that.
” But this is politics and you try and look like the bigger man to score points. Trump couldn’t do that.”:
You want him to take a knee.
You have to be nearly 60 years old to have a memory of MLK while he was alive. Lewis had similar mannerisms and I think that is in party why he was noted. He was a minor figure in the Civil Rights period. His longevity and political career gave him an oversized reputation.
The only people who get upset are the people who never would vote for him, nor any Republican, for that matter.
I doubt if Trump cared one way or the other about John Lewis, that is until Lewis turned into a drama queen and started boycotting Trump's inauguration and SOTU speeches for no good reason.
Trump is not a politician. However calls it as it is.
John Lewis can go to the devil as far as I am concerned.
Yes, we all so much desperately want Trump to be a politician...you know, a phoney. Give me a break
My bigger question is why Trump even bothered to do an interview for Axios on HBO.

It shows pres. Trump will take on hard interviews, which indirectly reminds people that Biden is AWOL from any interviews easy or hard.
Good for Trump for not caving into the democrat and media hero worship of their liberal Saint-of-the-Month. In a year not even democrats will remember Lewis or anything he did.
People have already forgotten Lewis’ name. He was a nobody in Congress and like all the others, used congress to enrich himself.
I don’t blame Trump one bit. Can you imagine the shit Trump would have had to endure to go to that racists funeral. By the way, who paid for that extravaganza?
The President is being very polite.
If you have nothing good to say. Then say nothing.
*yawn* I don’t celebrate liberals lives.
An interview with Axios? Really?
Not to kick dirt on the deceased, but over his career in Congress John Lewis managed to say some of the STOOOOOOOOOPIDEST things I have ever heard.
“debate will be filled with nothing but gotcha questions like this”
Won’t Trump be able to confront Biden directly in the debates?
John Lewis was a run of the mill hardcore Leftist Democrat. There was nothing he would not stoop to in order to further his political ends.
-And Trump will fall into the trap every time.-
Sent Trump an email and tell him you will take care of things for him.
