I guess you’re correct because states are buying it wholesale.
My understanding is that the retail price is subsidized there.
I have Canadian family. The subsidies are for Canadians of older age and of low income to get even cheaper/free drugs. Canadians who don’t qualify for subsidies pay full Canadian prices, which is still substantially cheaper than anything in the US.
You can easily tell the price difference for common high markup items like insulin, viagra/cialis, and prostate medications are still often 10 times cheaper paying full unsubsidized Canadian prices than American prices.
