The article doesn’t say otherwise, so I suppose that we can assume that he married young, and his wife bore a long series of multiple births. For example, if he married at 18 years of age, then he might have eight sets of twins, one for each year. Change one set of twins to triplets or add a single birth, and it’s certainly within the realm of biological possibility. But you’d think that the journalist might want to mention something about the wife and her highly unusual fecundity. He probably spends most of his days working hard to provide for his large family.
