Large parts of the downstream from the Three Gorges are portrayed as the breadbasket for China with a lot of food grown there. Shanghai alone is a huge city as are other cities all in jeopardy. Shipping is crucial. The Yangtze was big enough for ships to sail far up its reaches bringing all kinds of goods to people and sending back all kinds of stuff on the return. If all that is shut off as it looks like it could be it will be a huge disaster for the country.

Also Three gorges is one of the largest hydroelectirc plants anywhere producing power for millions.Without that it has to stress other Chinese power stations that are also in danger. Over 60 nuke plants down stream. It's a really big deal even worldwide when you think about it.

Looks like the ten year ban on fishing in the Yangteze River will be continued as well. Seems they netted the river to death it was so bad. Fish as small as an inch were netted or shocked near the end. All in all its a huge historical event now unfolding.

I’ll be anxious to see how the shockwave affects the rest of the world, but also how it might weaken China....their economy, their military which would be good since we’re all worried about their goal for world dominance. It can’t help.

It would likely force the world to find other suppliers of all types of important goods....which would also weaken the CCP.

Mother Nature rules.
