You make good points and I don’t disagree with any of them. General lee was told by his generals that they could continue the war by ordering the army to become a gorilla force. The Southern soldiers would have exceled at living off the land and fighting a gorilla campaign. His response was, “No, it’s time to begin healing the divide.”
It is easier to predict what would happen from that approach than it would be from sending Obama to prison. Like Nelson Mandela, prison may make Obama much more of force to recon with than just punishing his coconspirators. I can see a divide that eventually ends up with a new administration releasing Obama. Recall that the trial of Hitler and his subsequent slap on the wrist imprisonment essentially made the Nazi party what it became. That’s the last thing I’d want. So, if that means Obama walks but is totally neutered, I’m for it.
................well, if you and I were holding a public and kind of/sort of official debate on this subject of punishing high profile folks....., I would compromise with you on agreeing to put Obama and the Clintons on trial, finding them guilty, fining them billions because I believe they have billions that they stole from the American taxpayer hidden around the world.
At that point, their sentence of hanging and/or imprisonment could be commuted and with a 10 billion dollar judgment against the cretins we could launch collection proceedings against them imperpetuity.
As a part of their commutation, they would be compelled to live at a specific address in the desert of Arizona, in a VA type “starter” home and wear an ankle bracelets the rest of their lives.
Something like the foregoing would give tacit recognition to the idea you raise that them being imprisoned or hung might annoyingly give the Marxist Left something to WHINE about each and every hour and minute of each and every day on CNN for evermore.
Since they would all stand convicted of TREASON and sentenced to DEATH (still the official punishment for Treason) we (the American People) would have a great deal of leverage over them and by extension his Marxist’s pals too which is somewhat ALLURING in and of itself.
Finally, people like me could reluctantly settle for a lesser but very strong punishment that will send the message to future TRAITORS in high office that we want sent.
