I have suspected this for some time. I have some experience with CDC and what I saw in Fauci was true to form for CDC scientists and administrators. I never met him, but the CDC so called experts understood that they had a cozy gig. They would never upset the gravy train. They were and are part of the Swamp, albeit the Atlanta branch office.
Much like the King of the Hill episode when Bobby loses his snake in the sewer and the county animal control uses it as a golden ticket to get more $$$$$ using fear and headlines in the media.
