AUSTIN (KXAN) Coming off her Senate District 14 victory, former Travis County Judge Sarah Eckhardt said the Texas Legislature has an opportunity to right wrongs in regard to racial inequality and called the recent death of a Black Lives Matter protester in Austin an epic failure of leadership and policy.
Garrett Foster, 28, was shot multiple times after a car turned into a group of demonstrators at Black Lives Matter protest in Austin on July 25. Police said that Foster was carrying an AK-47 type firearm when the car turned into the roadway and approached the drivers side window as other demonstrators began striking the vehicle.
The driver of that car who turned into the crowd told police they had fired a handgun at someone who approached their driver-side window and pointed an assault-type weapon at them. APD has not indicated that Foster ever fired his weapon.

Thank you for those extra details. First I’d read of that. The rioter definitely picked on the wrong guy.
From your linked article:
...The protester said Foster was Mitchell’s “caretaker, and has been for like 10 years....

Why do I suspect that he was PAID BY THE GOVERNMENT to be her caregiver?
The failure of leadership was the failure to keep the mobs off the streets.
Yep.
You can hear the shots from the AK47 in the video. The initial news reports said there were TWO different weapons being fired. There is one burst of say 4 or 5, then there is a pause and then there is a second series of shots from a weapon that sounds different.
Should have ended with "It's Miller Time !!! let Me buy You a beer."
lolol. Prolly so...
Garrett never fired his AK47. Those five shots are a .45ACP or .357 followed by three shots from a .380, or possibly a 9mm. Garrett never fired. He pointed the gun in a specifically threatening way. Case closed.
After a car turned into a group of demonstrators
A lawless mob blocks a street so a car going down said street is guilty of turning into a group demonstrators .
To that l say: dont be Reginald Denning. Better to face charges later than have your skull caved in by a brick.
Austin, Texas is a great example of what is happening all over the US. People are fleeing big Democratic controlled high tax little freedom states for states like Texas and then try to remake Texas into the $hithole of a state they left.
So if there were 2 weapons, who was the other shooter in the antifa mob?
Stopping a car on a thoroughfare, without authority and surrounded by a crowd sounds like an unlawful imprisonment, and with a weapon...wish someone would do the case.
DK
So I guess now you’re supposed to wait for your assailant’s bullets to penetrate your skin before its OK to defend yourself.
The second shooter should have been arrested and charged with unlawful discharge of a firearm, if not reckless endangerment or attempted murder. He shot at a car (with people near it) in which the driver presented no immediate danger to him. The second shooter can't just start shooting at the driver because that driver was shooting his gun, unless he knew the driver was shooting innocent people who presented no imminent threat to the driver (which was NOT the case).
Hasn’t been identified for obvious reasons.
Yep.
I see we basically are on the same page.
Someone else in the crowd fired at the car after the driver defended himself
Time to hang the judges
