Personally I think it would be a lot more likely that I'd be facing criminal charges than a lawsuit. Even so, what you say makes sense only if I cared about any of that. I don't.
The attacker grabbed the ladys cane. It should have her fingerprints
Hopefully, she has been arrested before.
I guess well have to wait and see.
I hope that poor woman weathers this well with all she has on her plate.
The fact that her leg broke from a fall like that is not a good indicator of her general level of health, but that hardly a surprise considering all shes been through. I hope she heals well.

There was a study awhile ago and they sampled the critical care room floor with Covid patients. Something like 5 out of 10 samples came back with Covid.
The nurse's station on that floor had 6(?) out of 10 samples come back with it.
The pharmacy floor on the main floor of the hospital? 10 out of 10!
I have no idea if the samples were viable or not (meaning that you could get infected). As with any virus - they can detect the virus, but testing the viability is problematic.
In any case - since early March I have worn a N95 mask or better, Googles, decon shoes in the garage, change clothing, decon anything that comes in the house.
It was a pain in the beginning, now not a big deal.
I could care less if people wear a mask or not. Or walk down the “wrong way” in the store aisle. I don't care if they give me goofy comments when I'm wearing goggles and a half-mask respirator. (Since early March, when the gov’t was saying you don't need a mask.)
Everybody has their own levels of what they want to deal with in order to maintain their level of safety. Some folks don't think a seat belt is needed. Some folks don't have fire extinguishers. Some folks don't carry a gun everywhere.
I'm not one of those folks. I also don't fear getting into a car wreck every time I go out. Or afraid of a fire. Or afraid of a bad guy. I'm also not afraid of a virus.

Is it a “law?”
Its been established. I used word law when i should have said executive order. I like rules so I follow it. What does that have to do with an animal beating up a woman who is obviously in frail health? Its a no brainer to me.

Old enough to know that bleeding-heart apologists are not what this country needs right now.
What did the black woman do wrong? The feeble bitch at the copy machine ran her mouth and she paid for it. I wish I had been there to cheer.
If you have a problem with that, you don’t have the backbone for what’s coming, and it’s best if you hang back and shut your useless mouth.
You’re another one that’s on the list, nancy.
You’re not “afraid” of a virus, but you walk around looking like a spaceman everywhere you go?
It all began with the fear of lawyers. America has 4.5% of the world’s population but 70& of the world’s lawyers. That’s over 15 times our allotment per capita.
I think it was the woman suing McDonald’s for coffee being hot that began the problem.
Constant video surveillance and facial recognition have exacerbated the problem.
Technology, from the advent of radio to the present day, will be the downfall of humanity.
It will take complete downfall, back to 19th-century ways of living, to reset society’s way of thinking. We need to be spending 18 hours per day of hard labor on food, water, and shelter to stop people from worrying so much about what everyone else is doing or not doing.
