Basically any white guy that did anything significant is going to get cancelled eventually.
Mom & Dad took us there, for a wonderful vacation/trip, as kids.
I can still remember the hotel...ordering room service..lol...and opening the windows - yes, the very large, french windows actually opened up - and watching the streets quiet down, during the night.
What a once beautiful place the left has completely destroyed and turned in to a literal $h!thole.

I’d say Franklin Roosevelt needs to go, too. He presided over a segregated military, relied on the votes of Southern segregationists to get elected and depended on Senators and Congressmen from Jim Crow states to pass his legislation. His favorite vacation spot was in a Jim Crow state.

This isn't really about slavery. It's about the white race. That's what they want to abolish.
Slavery grievance is just a tool.
At least Drake’s culture managed to figure out how to construct a multiple story building. Some cultures didn’t.
It is a two letter word signifying refusal.
So when they tell you to change the name of your business, say no.
If they want you to wear a training burka, say no.
If they tell you not to go to church, say no.
Normal people are polite, law abiding, tolerant and generally try to make other people happy. They do not do "no." They do not want to make a fuss.
But unless you accept the gift of no and start using it you are going to be ground into the dust. And you are not only going to have to say "no" but you are also going to have to defend the right of other normal people to say "no". Even people you do not agree with.
When will the time return when you can be agreeable, tolerate and follow all the rules even those that are stupid? Maybe never.

And Drake’s culture in Drake’s day figured out how to circumnavigate the world.

I thought there was still disagreement over where “Drake’s bay” was located. I read a book once that argued that it was much further north (like Puget Sound).

Changing the name of a business is not a minor thing.
Particularly one like The Drake. This is a Five Star hotel.
The Drake has name recognition that is not easy to come by. Changing the name would be the loss of millions of dollars in free advertising. The Drake image and name appear in a lot of movies and TV shows that get a lot of play on TV.
Then the is the cost of changing the name on letter heads, changing the name in advertising, website.
This is millions of dollars and not a small decision.
“California” = “land of the caliph”.
One major reason we need coins is because of all the taxes that are imposed on everything that result in everything costing weird amounts.
You go into the store and see an item that costs $25.00 (or more likely ($24.99). But when you go ring it up all of the sudden it costs $28.43. You have to add in the state sales tax, the city sales tax, the school tax, the sewer charge, the carbon tax, the clean streets fee, and so on.
One reasons politicians would like to get rid of things like pennies and nickels is that it will automatically inflate their tax income since everything will have to be rounded up to the next dime or quarter.
Rename it the Arnold A. Schwarzenegger Hotel.
How about renaming it The Ward Connerly? A Black conservative Republican would be a nice alternative.

There’s a bunch of great hotels in SF, though quite expensive.
The Drake was one of the best.
