It's a real problem for Trump to be running on a freedom and liberty platform when as a practical matter they have ceased to exist at ground level. Dictatorial state and local governments have closed churches and have gotten away with it. The CDC has issued more regulations in the past 90 days than Trump was able to eliminate during the first 3 years of his presidency. He needs to wake-up to this, and soon.

He is awake to all of it. He does not have the power to change some things. Remember, he is alone, a lone man trying to dismantle the onrushing tide. One of the liabilities of being an outsider is that he did not have a whole crew of competent loyal people with him when he came into office and the entire unremovable bureaucracy is dead set against anything he might do that would be perceived by the people as good or effective. Some he can sideline but most he can’t and if his orders ares simply ignored or countermanded down the line there is not much he can do about it in many cases. I learned back in the primaries not to second guess him. I have had attacks of misgivings or doubts a couple of times since then a bit later he has undermined some foe and got something done.
