Shouldn’t they be released because they might catch or spread the COVID?

How about an ankle monitor with a loud siren. If you leave 20 feet from the residence, it blares and everyone knows you are a “risky person”.

I have friends who flew to the Caribbean last week. They had to have a test at least 4 days prior to departure, and to buy trip insurance in case they had to stay for 14+ days or worse things once they arrived. But it seems arbitrary. How do you know someone didn’t get the virus the day of the test or even before that when the viral load is still too low to detect, or the 4 days after? Maybe it’s some precaution, but not much of a safeguard against the truly reckless.
