People who claim they were cured of coronavirus by hydroxychloroquine have come forward in support of doctors who have been "attacked" for saying the controversial drug works.
Dr Stella Immanuel, one of the doctors who went viral for saying she'd cured COVID-19, took to Twitter to ask for people's help, with friends and family of survivors also coming forward.
"We are being attacked, ridiculed and discredited," she said.
"We need our patients to SPEAK UP. If you have been cured by this drug, share your story online using this hashtag. #HCQWorks."
The Houston GP said she had successfully treated more than 350 coronavirus patients with hydroxychloroquine, zinc and Zithromax, an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections.
Hydroxychloroquine is used for treatment of malaria and certain auto-immune diseases but doctors have claimed it works for Covid-19.
It's also gained the support of President Donald Trump and other politicians.
In Australia its use for treatment of Covid-19 is considered "off-label".
"There is currently no clear data to inform clinical guidance on the use, dosing, or duration for COVID-19 treatment," the Therapeutic Goods Administration says.
Chris Milburn was one of the survivors who came forward in reply to Dr Immanuel's tweet and others from the group calling themselves America's Frontline Doctors.
The 58-year-old retired Deputy Sheriff from Columbus, Ohio, said he tested positive for coronavirus on April 6.

I have TWO friends who’ve been on this drug for YEARS, for AI diseases.
They are perfectly fine...have had NO adverse effects, whatsoever.
India treated their poverty district (aka homeless) with this....with GREAT success.
Yet, here in the US, because it’s a CHEAP treatment...that BigPharma and FRAUDchi can’t profit from ..... no dice.
My cousin has been on it for a couple of decades for lupus. No problems.
Hard to tell which is more important: Defeat Trump or pay off big pharma.

Whatever happened to the bazillion doses the Trump had shipped over from India(?) .
It’s weird, the attacks on calling it a “cure”. Sure, it will not always cure the disease. Further, this is a disease that goes away on it’s own eventually; or else you die. It’s not like we are looking for a “cure for HIV” or a “cure for cancer” — your body “cures” you, the drug is a TREATMENT to help you RECOVER.
So maybe they shouldn’t call it a cure, they should call it a successful treatment.
The problem of course is that 99% of the people, this is exactly what happens whether you do any treatment or not. So who knows if the HCQ is helping?
Meanwhile, we also have the Res-treatment, which is helping a lot of people recover. And there are other treatments that may be helping. We know that death rates have dropped significantly, so apparently treatments are effective.
This is getting insane. I read almost every day another so-called anecdotal Covid case being cured by HCQ, zinc, and an antibiotic. Yes, I get the combo needs to be administered early on, but why is this not big news? It’s curing this disease around the World.
