Tropical Storm Isaias developed in the Eastern Caribbean Sea. All interests along the Florida Peninsula should be prepared for deteriorating weather conditions by Saturday.
For linguistics aficionados, the National Hurricane Center uses the four-syllable pronunciation ees-ah-EE-ahs. The name Isaias is Spanish for Isaiah. To hear a meteorologist pronounce Isaias: NWS Melbourne.

Hoping $10 worth of ice was a good insurance investment for Isaias.
I can send you some ice if you need it. :)
Your offer is most generous, thank you. I would prefer that Isaias just fizzle out tonight.

How about I push to the North Myrtle Beach area where my inlaws live? They do not like me and can use some irritation.
I have enough hot air to make that happen.
Been out of the loop a bit- I hear it’s going to take a wee jog west? I’m fine supply-wise but not up for power loss. Too damn HOT for that.
Got mom situated ok?
You bet! Fixed her a bowl of chocolate pudding with whipped cream this afternoon. She is happy as can be.
Im in SLC. Spent today in Jensen putting up moms shutters. They sent out a push notification saying Martin county shelters are not open around 11 am.
Local news reports said all afternoon that the safest place to be for this storm is at home.
Exactly I would agree.THe more water, the velocity the duration the worse it gets.
Rest awhile you will get over it.

It’s been a long time since I followed a hurricane thread - so much crazy stuff going on in the country these days that I just haven’t been very tuned in.
Stay safe, everyone. I’ve got a lot of catching up to do.
Not liking this forecast track... eye (or ‘center of circulation’) sitting right on the beach for about 150 miles of Florida barrier islands.
Forward speed has slowed to 9 MPH with massive convection blowing up. Going to be a long night.
Really not liking the slow forward movement.
