I agree with you; but how would citizens be able to create such a change?
Work for and vote for honest politicians who understand the problem of an unbridled and powerful federal government. Convince your family and friends of the problem. Understand that the problem is so pervasive, so large, that the change that is needed likely won’t happen in our lifetimes. This has to be a bottom up movement . . . well-intentioned individual politicians are too easily corrupted by their governmental colleagues and the system they have built. We did not drive into this forest in three months; it will take a long time to drive our way out. There are no simple, easy answers.
Advocate for re-call mechanisms to hold politicians who portray themselves fraudulently immediately accountable. GW Bush was a fraud. Lindsey Graham is a fraud. John McCain was a fraud. Paul Ryan was a fraud. There are many more.
The re-election of Donald Trump would likely help considerably. The fact that he was elected in the first place is testimony to the fact that there are millions upon millions who think like we do. So, do not lose heart.
