For people who are bothered by a mask but will wear it anyway, it can be worn loosely around the edges. If you wear glasses, it can be worn fitted snugly across the top and sides but loosely at the bottom.
The way to get it fitted across the bridge of the nose (to avoid fogging glasses) is to have a slim pipe cleaner pocket sewn across the top of the mask like a hem but with an open section in the middle. That way, the pipe cleaner can be taken out before laundering the mask.
In the craft section of a large Walmart, there are packs of objects that look like pipe cleaners but larger and more colorful. Those work well.
Yeah, masks are a bother. But anyone wearing one anyway might be able to make the experience a little more tolerable. I received that info from someone who is required to wear masks to keep her job. She did some research before designing and making the masks for herself and others with similar work requirements.
Some doctors, their family members and other clinic and hospital employees in the area have been making and using masks of the same design (snug fit all around the edges, two layers of cotton quilting cloth—looks something like linen but a little heavier and with a more dense weave). The masks are put into a plastic ziplock bag after use and often replaced with clean masks. Dirty masks are laundered daily and rinsed several times to get as much detergent out of them as possible after washing.
Sorry but I just put on the disposable mask, pinch the nose area to fit and that’s the it of it. ...my nose and mouth are covered sufficiently to protect ‘other people’ should I sneeze or cough.....the rest is in God’s hands.
