I would imagine that the church board and elders have their legal ducks in a row.
They know what they are dealing with and it may be that they didn’t do this sooner because they were working out the details and potential for consequences and their response to it.
I don’t think MacArthur met with any lawyers before making this decision. The only Person he consulted about this was God.
He did this now because Newsome stepped over the line.
It’s time all churches took this stand.
Legal Shmegal. This is spiritual warfare. MacArthur’s letter laid out scriptural reasons for resuming his flock’s meetings, not legal/constitutional ones.
Might wind up a SCOTUS case. With Roberts though, not sure how I feel about that.
