Half my pecans have little holes in them that means a weevil larvae got in and ate all the meat. So, you have to inspect each one.
There is a lot of back breaking manual labor.
In the past, I let certain people pick up my pecans for free, and give me back 1/5th or so. I think I'll make that offer this year.
My pecans right now:
I have a little bit of black scab on them due to all the rain we've had lately. Sometimes this ruins the nut meat, other times not. We'll have to see come ripening...
