If I were really poor, lived in one of those blue city hellholes, and lived in low income or public housing, because I HAD to, I’d save every nickel I could, sell everything I could, and buy a bus ticket to a red state, apply for emergency housing, and fall on the mercy of The Salvation Army to get as much help as I could. Even in red cities and states, there’s often crime in low income housing areas, but NOTHING could be as bad as what people in NYC, etc., have to put up with. Our little town of 3,000 even has public housing, and yes, our town has a little bit of low level crime, but on the other hand, we’ve left our keys in the door overnight several times, or left our detached garage open, and we’ve never had a problem. And we’re a very poor town, except for a few blocks “up on the hill”. Oh, and being a strong 2nd amendment state, just about EVERYONE has at least one gun.
