My latest theory: When the number of cases approaches the NY + NJ numbers, the virus has denatured itself sufficiently by internal coding errors to turn the daily new cases downward.
If I’m right, new cases in TX and FL are about to turn around. CA should be leading, but so far no joy.

Yes because the CDC has just told states to stop testing people who tested positive once and did a ten-day quarantine. They've determined that you will still test positive for up to 90 days as virus remnant remains in your system, but you will no longer infect others. Up till now we've been retesting the same people over and over again, and they always test positive.
In ten days case numbers are going to fall off a cliff.
