See my post 30 above. There is an old LA Times article from when the LAPD shut it down that can confirm that this did exist.
I don’t like there any more and I don’t know where the new warehouse (or its successor, likely at this point) is. At the time, they were sanitized (no markings) Chinese AKs, full auto. When I left in 95, if memory serves, $250 would get you one of these AKs and two loaded magazines.
Someone reminded me that there was also another one found up in Oakland and closed in 1996, so even though I can’t find the original article describing the LA operation as of yet you can see that this was a real thing:
I am reasonably certain that any major US port that Chinese container ships dock at in significant numbers has a warehouse where one can get Chinese arms. For example, I used to know roughly where the one was in Houston through some very shady friends, but I was told it got closed down ahead of rumored police raids in the late 2000s. I never went there - but I did physically go to the LA one and contemplated purchasing one of the AKs in the wake of my suboptimal experience the LA Riots. (Hunting rifles and sporting shotguns suck as riot defense weapons, IMHO.) I decided not to purchase one at the time as I wasn’t entirely sure if it was for real or a police setup. I did find out later it was real, but I had resolved to move the hell away from LA at that point and didn’t want an illegal full auto while traveling to a new state.
Er, I don’t live in LA any more - I also don’t *like* LA, but I didn’t intend to say like in my first post to you, sorry.

American universities are hosting exactly how many Chinese students? Military-age college students, I might add. Tens of thousands is my guess but I’m notoriously conservative.
If the CCP gave the “secret word” and all those military-age Chinese went to a pre-arranged location, there to receive their uniforms, weapons and orders, I’d say we would have a rather large problem on our hands.
