Locking down civilians will not eradicate the coronavirus -- despite several governors' claims and actions to the contrary, Hoover Institution fellow Dr. Scott Atlas said Thursday.
And the U.S. is also not handling the virus as badly as some have claimed, Atlas said on Fox News' "The Ingraham Angle."
"I'm cautiously optimistic because we actually know a lot now. We know the fatality rate is much lower and we know who to protect, we are doubling down on the protection of the high-risk group. We are doing better with patients in the hospital. I think we have to tell the American people: This is not out-of-control here," he said.

The lockdowns aren’t about controlling the virus. They are about control.
This crap will go on forever....parents are scared to death to send there kids to a normal school.no face masks and no social distancing.
Lockdowns were the most idiotic idea conceived.
Kids have a low shot of getting it. They ate up all the fear porn.
Trump has retweeted this guy in the past. But at the end of the day he ends up right back in line with Fauci. Drives me nuts.
I’ve always believed it was only capable of being a slow burn trade off to do lockdowns. You can’t end a virus while keeping stores open. Its not possible to put everone in a 30 day complete quarantine.
So the only question is how slowly do these measures allow the virus to run its course and how much the process is a stress to our country.
Lengthy lockdowns and mask requirements do institutionalize the petty and large tyranny that has descended over the country. UIt is creating precedent for the governors and even the mayors to assume plenipotentiary powers and rule by decree whenever they think up a new Emergency. After a few they won’t have to cry Emergency! any more.
