The solution is to require teachers to do their zoom classes from the school property. They should have to report 30 minutes before the normal school day and not leave until 30 minutes after the normal school day. If they do not show up, they do not get paid. They could use the school’s resources for their classes. They would then have to work through all the child care issues like other people are doing and the schools would open immediately.
Uhhh, you haven't been paying attention, have you? Most school systems in Central VA are doing exactly that (but not using Zoom, since it's an insecure China-owned platform). The teachers will be working at school all day and video conferencing out to the students. The issue with teacher child care hasn't budged the school boards one bit. Most of the teachers I know want to go back full time; it's the school boards and administrations that want to keep kids home. Saves money (to pay the bloated bureaucracy in the administration) and hurts the economy (to attack Trump).
