Portland is collapsing. Trump is doing this all wrong. He needs to give them what they want, and that is the removal of all federal facilities, services and dollars. They want the Feds out, so, do it. Stop all funding, all help, all services, and all jobs. Leave the city. In fact, build a new bridge across the Columbia river to bypass Portland altogether and isolate it. Let Portland run it’s self. Wheeler will be crying in 30 days, but do not listen to him. Let the city die
While seeing the Liberal-Lands disintegrate under their own weight would be immensely satisfying, the danger is that more of these places would pop up throughout the country like poisonous mushrooms.
Some may say, if there is no police or governmental push back to blocking off areas of any city and claiming it as your own, why don’t we do it over here too?
There are three bridges from the Portland area across the Columbia to Washington. The first one is west of Portland. The I-5 bridge is right in Portland. (For the record I-5 through Portland is not a freeway, the crazies have prevented them from allowing the creating of an actual freeway in Portland.)
The actual freeway that is used by the truckers and everyone else is the 205. It does skirt Portland proper, but is to the east of downtown Portland. The Portland Airport is right off of the 205.
