Activists and civil rights groups have spent more than a year quelling immigrant communities fears around the census only to have President Donald Trump issue a memorandum to exclude undocumented immigrants from census results.
That has caused simmering concerns about the politicization of the census process to boil over for civil rights groups and congressional Democrats. House Oversight and Reform Chairwoman Carolyn B. Maloney said she plans to hold an emergency hearing on the memorandum next week.
Taking this step right in the middle of the ongoing Census is particularly egregious and sinister because it appears purposefully designed to depress the count, deter people from filling out their forms, and corrupt the democratic processes on which our nation is founded, the New York Democrat said in a statement.

Democrats are VERY worried. Their cities are emptying, which leaves less power over states. Illegal immigration was their key to total control for all time.
California will lose representatives in Congress for the first time ever! New York will likely lose at least three seats (buh bye AOC).
November is ballgame.
Winning! More please.

Two-edged sword. Texas also stands to lose some representation, as to any border states which might vote R.
Yeah dumb demrat..”purposely designed to illegally make the election an undemocratic sham... Your whole party is a sham.

Redux. Democrats want their new slaves to be counted to increase their power.
For the first time in my 57yrs, I can watch a President play hardball with the party that has been free to destroy our nation. This man fights and wins!
Understood. But those districts losing representation will have to be subsumed into other districts as a result.
Wait, I thought the immigrants didn’t want to deal with the federal authorities? Sounds like they are getting what they wanted.
Why would Illegals care of they are counted or not?
Oh yes.
There’s nothing wrong with counting illegal aliens, it’s good to know how many millions in excess of the official number (around 11 million) are actually here.
But being here doesn’t give them the rights of actual citizens, which includes voting and representation in Congress. If I snuck into Mexico illegally, would I be able to demand the right to vote there? Absolutely not.
If the illegals choose not to participate in the census because they are worried about losing their illegally protected status, than that’s their tough luck.
For at least seven states....the bulk of 2021 and 2022 will be consumed with re-drawing the lines....some to lessen the districts, some to increase the districts. So what really matters in this election is internal elections in these states and Republicans end up with a majority. Supreme Court action in 2022/2023? You should expect a lot of challenges.
The other worry here? You may have a huge black-vote turn-out for Trump and some worry that this is a trend....where you can’t truly depend on the black-drawn districts to vote Democrat. Added to this ‘fury’....legal Latinos will have to fit into the redrawing efforts, and a growing number of them vote Republican.
The biggest loss to democrats will not be in losing seats to other states but to losing house seats within their own states to more rural and suburban districts. Democrats have been working a strategy for years of concentrating the population within states borders so they can win the states with only carrying the population centers. If this reapportionment takes place under this executive order all is lost for the democrats . Please god protect and keep our President safe in these trying times.
Tell me why including illegals in the census is a good thing? Those people are here ILLEGALLY. I dont give a hoot about them. Get out of our country and go back where you came from.
“Illegal immigration was their key to total control for all time. “
They depend heavily on legal immigration from socialist countries too.
This should be part of a Comprehensive Immigration Enforcement bill, missing since 1986 ONE TIME amnesty. Since that amnesty was granted already, a second amnesty is off the table. What remains is the enforcement the Democrats have disallowed since then.
The List of Comprehensive Immigration Enforcement, missing since 1986 goes like this -
1) southern barrier;
2) require eVerify to hire;
3) end all chain migration;
4) birthright per Minor v. Happersett (plural parents);
5) end work visas;
6) 10-year moratorium on all new applications for citizenship (40 years to allow workplace automation effects on downsizing population);
7) Set up an illegal aliens victim restitution fund.
Enactment of these provisions will motivate illegal aliens to SELF-deport, and remove colonizadors from our welfare rolls.
We need to pass these protections in order not to make out Democrats as liars who promised the protection in exchange for a ONE TIME AMNESTY. The Democrats got the amnesty already. Now its past time for the protections we were promised.
All good news. Thanks for the analysis.
