These are all stupid kids in the streets or young adults with a severe case of arrested development. They do not represent adult society. If they were not in the streets rioting, they would be at home dying their hair purple.
Some of them are owned by China, though. I would say there is the battle in the Matrix trying to persuade idiots and drones to take the red pill and there is a battle against the robot machine itself which is China.

Stupid kids trying to find meaning in an empty life. Don’t think very many of them built and ran a business, worked full time so they could go to school in their off hours, or raised and supported a family with all of the challenges and rewards that entails. These kids know nothing.
