To date, there has never been a successful coronavirus vaccine made, due to the nature of the virus. Additionally, past attempts to create a coronavirus vaccine have ONLY RESULTED IN LEAVING THE VACCINATED PERSON WITH A HIGHER CHANCE OF SERIOUS ILLNESS AND DEATH WHEN LATER EXPOSED TO ANOTHER STRAIN OF THE VIRUS.

There are only 7 known coronaviruses which affect humans: 229E, OC43, HKU1, NL63, SARS-CoV-1, MERS-CoV, and SARS-CoV-2 (the one that has us all wearing masks now).

The first four coronaviruses in the list aren't very severe - the first two are among the causes of the common cold. SARS-CoV-1 and MERS-CoV were confined to a little over 10,000 cases worldwide, with fewer than 2000 deaths worldwide.

None of them caused a concentrated effort to create a vaccine like SARS-CoV-2 has. Work on a vaccine for SARS-CoV-1 did take place, but funding soon dried up as the virus never caused an epidemic.

But, just a few days ago, I read that POC will be prioritized for the vaccine, right behind 1st responders and health care workers.

I wonder if the non-white community became a tad paranoid at that? Haven’t seen it repeated.

Trump made the comment about being last so that no one could say he pushed some poor victim out of line and was a big bully for doing so. Being 1st is usually a sign of unlimited faith and support wrt to a vaccine. In Trump’s case, it would be spun to mean he puts himself 1st.

Trump taking the vaccine first and lauding it, might cause the SJWs to refuse the shot. If Trump refuses the shot, then he will be characterized as knowing it is harmful and purposefully protecting himself. What a dilemma.
