Why not just buy it now?

For the most part, from what I’ve seen, finished ammunition and reloading supplies are still generally plentiful.

Of course buy now. But how long will such a conflict last? What will be the supply sources a year into a conflict? Five years? A decade? Who will control ammunition supply, logistics, supply chains, etc?

It won’t be like the Union owning all the industrial production in the Civil War. It will be more like how the Taliban and other guerrilla groups around the world get their weapons and ammunition.
