The most alarming thing to me is that the country as a whole is ignoring the two most glaring lessons of the immediate past.
They are:
The Russian fall to communism in 1917 and the fall of France to the Germans in 1940.
The lesson from each of those events is that a small group of determined people, in the first case, or a small group of gutless who hold public office, in the second case, can bring down an otherwise powerful country.
Today the United States of America is governed in large part by the gutless who are afraid to tackle the traitors and it will be a miracle if we do not meet the same fate.
I don't think so. Yugoslavia had ethnic groups that had been fighting for 1000 years. We don't have that here. Woke liberals are not an ethnic group, they are mostly soylent green. Blacks are not a cohesive ethnic group either, but some will form gangs. Same with hispanics.
I think the author has it mostly right, the elites will run it. Their shock troops and their useful idiots equals about 30% of the population. Our active resistance is probably another 30%.

Doesn’t seem to me like those were places where the poorest people were the most likely to be grossly obese. Or were generally unused to hard physical labor outdoors in all weather. Or were the most entertained poor people ever. Seems to me like these are all pretty glaring differences.
