Surgeon General Jerome Adams begged Fox News' audience on Monday to wear face masks to help contain the spread of the coronavirus and to avoid thinking of the health measure as a violation of their rights.
Adams stressed that President Donald Trump has recently said he supports mask-wearing, despite his refusal to implement a federal mask mandate.
"I'm pleading with your viewers, I'm begging you, please understand that we are not trying to take away your freedoms when we say wear a face covering," Adams said during a "Fox and Friends" interview.
He went on, "We are not trying to take away your ability to go out when we say keep restaurant capacity under 50%. We are saying if we do these things, we can actually open and stay open. We can get back to school, to worship, to jobs. We can do this."

Unbelievable huh? I just posted a comment after I read that article. One thing that stuck out when I read it was that the Police Department said they tried to stop the man while in pursuit, but decided to refrain “in the interest of public safety.” But “in the interest of public safety” they follow him home, and shot him in a neighborhood full of people. One of the guy's neighbors said it's usually a quiet neighborhood.

People are going to get infected, but that doesn’t mean they are going to die. You want to wear a mask do it, but the issue is MANDATED masks-get it?
And you know that how—despite all the many studies showing that they and better than the mandated masks don’t work for any similar coronaviruses?
I respectfully disagree with you. Though I believe you have a right to wear whatever you wish, I also have a right not to. But again, we can agree to disagree and walk away in peace.

Oh, my!’I knew there would be health risks with the masks, but didn’t know about Legionnaire’s. Makes sense. My fear is not cobtracting Covid but becoming ill from the masks.

Last week Rush reported this. A doctor’s wife was diagnosed with Covid because she had the symptoms. Her doc-hubby was told to come so they could say their goodbyes. (Of course, they hadn’t bothered to actually TEST her for Covid.) Doctor hubby told the other doctors to test her for EVERYTHING. They did. No Covid, but Legionnaire’s. She was fine in a couple days.
Of course, hospitals don’t get thousands of dollars for diagnoses of Legionnaire’s. So when they found that, and not Covid, the hospital administrators, all went, “DRAT!”

Mayflower, that would make me FURIOUS. And absolutely correct about the hospital getting money for the Covid diagnosis. That’s the problem:This BS virus has been lucrative for a lot of unscrupulous people who don’t care if they divide others, as long as they profit.
Jerome and his initial lies about masks are the reason for mixed messaging. He admitted to providing false information so that healthcare workers to get the masks before we did. He should be fired.

Yes, you are correct, Madam, that people don’t give a rat’s ass about the safety of unmasked, selfish people. Not even a teeny, tiny bit. But the fact remains that if you’re the only one in a grocery store without a mask and you have COVID, the rest of us wearing masks are at risk. If someone wearing the mask has it, you are not at risk without your mask. If everyone in the grocery store is wearing a mask, very little risk for anyone. Don’t bother to spout off a bunch of BS to prove an invalid point. Perhaps you’re the person without a mask walking into a grocery store the other day who sneezed into her hand?

The promise ‘we’ll reopen if you all just cooperate and wear masks’ is a lie. If Biden wins, we get a UBI, a limited economy and full-bore Social Credit system. With everyone on some form of EBT, look for no choices in groceries or medicines or health care or education. You will take what they decide is best for them and you will shut up about it because your only income is from the government.
They want people to curtail trips to the store. You can order online, giving them a full record of your consumption of everything.
They do not intend for any of this to end. It will just become more onerous.
