Way deeper. They want to impregnated, supported and protected by a strong alpha man. Ancient core program - procreation, survival and strong offspring. Hence harems and polygamy.
Today’s women are so messed up because they are far divorced from their core beings — mothers and grandmothers (as a social group) raising young, emotion-driven children to the age of 14-16 (an age of maturity in the past; the boys then worked and and the girls then married).
But, as with racism, this cannot have an honest discussion, because of the unwelcome truths that must be included.
