Yes,and particularly after Caetano v Massachusetts (SCOTUS,9-0 vote striking down a state weapons ban) that ban is very probably unconstitutional.

Caetano v Massachusetts was regarding tasers.

SCOTUS turned down several Assault Weapon Ban cases, letting the lower Circuit Court decisions upholding the bans stand as law.

I would not automatically assume that New York's Assault Weapon Ban is unconstitutional.

I mean, of course it is, but it seems unlikely for SCOTUS to rule that way.
