. . .We have to link these fights in a new and deeper way than ever before, said Mary Kay Henry, president of the Service Employees International Union, which represents over 2 million workers in the U.S. and Canada. . .The service workers union has partnered with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, the American Federation of Teachers, United Farm Workers and the Fight for $15 and a Union, which was launched in 2012 by American fast food workers to push for a higher minimum wage. . .

Yada, Yada, Yada!!!
Weve had a long relationship with Vice President Biden on lots of issues, says Mary Kay Henry, the president of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), citing health care as an example. But, Henry quickly added, its similar to, frankly, the long-standing relationship weve had with many of the other Democratic candidates.: Biden Is Betting on Unions. They Might Bet on Someone Else. The former vice president is leaning on his long-standing alliance with labor as he launches his presidential bid. But most major groups are holding off on endorsements.(04/30/2019)
SEIU President Mary Kay Henry serves on the Biden-Sanders unity task force on health care, helping shape the Democratic platform.: SEIU endorses Biden, boosting Democrat's 2020 ground game: The union, which represents 2 million workers, says it will launch a 40-state, Essential for Joe voter turnout campaign. Shouldn’t they be working for Black Lives?
The union fatcats can support the left all they want, but many of the rank and file, especially Teamster members, are solidly in the Trump camp. I also know several guys in the IBEW and other trade unions that are also not going to vote with their union’s leadership.
The Institute, which was founded in New York City late last year with a $50 million pledge from investor and philanthropist George Soros, is headed by Robert Johnson, an EPI board member and former managing director of Soros Fund Management who also served as chief economist for the U.S. Senate Banking and Budget Committees. EPI board member Robert Kuttner also attended.: Economic Policy Institute
What are they striking for?
Oh, so American workers are striking so that immigrants can come take their jobs?
Ditto that. Democrats may think if minimum wage is $15, they will get more tax revenue from those people to redistribute to the ones that don’t work. On second thought Democrats don’t think.
...brings back some positive memories of the Air Traffic Controller strike during Raegan’s tenure.....hmmmmm????
In other words, the commie unions coming out of wraps.
I asked a fried of mine who is a member of one of the participating Unions, and they didn’t hear a thing about it.
some of the “climate” groups in the list:
U.S. Youth Climate Strike Coalition
350.org
Greenpeace USA
Sunrise Movement
MoveOn
Union of Concerned Scientists
Climate Justice Alliance
Labor Network for Sustainability
Sierra Club
New Economy Coalition
Green New Deal anyone?
nothing to do with Black Lives. pure Democrat partisan politics, and the protest will be allowed and will be championed by the FakeNewsMSM.
SEIU grew out of the Communist Party’s efforts to control “service” workers through unionization. This included Local 1199 (Leon Davis (CPUSA) and then Rivera, a hardcore Marxist as leaders). It then merged with another CPUSA controlled union, the Distributive Workers Local 65, lead by CPUSA member Al Evanoff and his red cronies.
You will also notice the link by an organizer named Henderson with the old Communist Party training ground for the South, the Highlander School. As I recall, a number of key CPUSA organizers in the South were involved with it including Aubrey Williams, possibly the Bradens (Carl and Anne - who I met at a Party front conference), and others.
I don’t have my congressional hearings in front of me which listed those in it as well as the parallel Party front (Southern Conference for Human Welfare - SCHW, which became the Southern Conference Educational Fund - SCEF). SCEF was dealt with in House Committee on Un-American Activities hearings, the Sen. Committee on Un-American Activities of the California State Legislature, probably the 1966, 1967 and 1970 reports and the Louisiana Committee on Un-American Activities, and possibly the HCUA 1956 report on “Communist Activities in the South”.
Good night to all ships at sea!!!
Outlaw public unions and taxpayer revenue to “private” unions.
Fire them and hire replacements.
“What the F are they so unhappy about?”
I believe it boils down to the fact that most Americans believe the country’s best days are behind it, and young people today will have lower standard of living than their parents’ generation. Globalization has gutted our middle class; these protests are occurring in some of the most expensive cities in this country. They (wrongly) believe socialism will deliver them a better standard of living; they are convinced the current system won’t.
These protestors aren’t walking away from good jobs to participate in these riots.
These “activists” are modern cargo cultists.
They believe money and stuff just mysteriously arrives on the island.
Therefore distribution of the money and stuff is all that need concern them!
“Service Employees International Union”
mostly government employees
I would KILL government employee unions
