You are exactly correct, and the cruise ship early on proves out the 10-20% herd immunity threshold. The cruise ship, a perfect environment for the spread of a virus, only yeilded 17% infected. That shouldve been a sign, but the fear mongers buried that as quick as they could.
The deaths curve shows it all this thing is OVER.
I dont disagree that it is over in many places. My wife’s hospital hasn’t had a single case in over a week.
But, this is also spreading across the country. What is going on in TX and FL is what was happening in the Northeast in April/May.
I am kind of surprised how the media, and lots of otherwise bright people, are missing that point. We are not a single geographic location like, say, Belgium. We are a big country. Its not going to hit everywhere all at once.
“The cruise ship, a perfect environment for the spread of a virus, only yeilded 17% infected.”
That is an excellent comparison! I decided to look at the death rate, too. According to Worldometer (http://bit.ly/3ddGbQG) the overall worldwide death rate (deaths/cases) is 4% (today). The U.S. is about 3.5%. The Diamond Princess (DP) 1.8%!
The DP is the perfect petri dish.
Someone is surely fudging the numbers somewhere!
