All of Asia wears Masks and they still catch it , D’oh
When is the Media going to tell these Governors the truth that Science has proven that Masks DO NOT prevent transmittal of the Virus?
These unconstitutional orders will likely end Nov. 5th - not before.
The media is the enemy of truth, science...
I’m liking Steve Reams even more than I liked his predecessor, John Cooke (now a State Senator).
We refer to them as chin slings. People pull them down over their noses and below their chins.
At least at the County level our Sheriffs still show some common sense - basically ignoring magazine limits, masks, and other completely foolish and Constitutionally questionable edicts.
I believe masks can help, but probably not in a statistically significant way. In a thought experiment you can imagine that yes, if you cough or sneeze into a mask it may trap some of the aerosol particles and may therefore reduce the chances of spreading the virus - if you happen to have it, if you happen to be in a contagious phase, and if someone else who hasn't had it happens to be close enough to matter. How often is that likely to happen vs how many people have been coerced into wearing masks?
I have a nice fabric mask a friend made for me because she was so concerned, wanted to do her part. I didn't have the heart to tell her that her masks are just about completely worthless. She chose fabrics based on the fun/pretty/silly patterns on them. She's into sewing so she chose only the best fabrics... If you know anything about quilting/sewing, the best fabrics tend to be "high thread count" - really dense weave. The fabric is, for all intents, impenetrable by normal breathing pressure. When I wear it, my breath leaks around the outside. If I stretch it tight with my hands and inhale/exhale with effort I can force my breath through it. But in reality, I might as well simply have a square of plastic in front of me. I'm not breathing through it at all. It's one redeeming quality is that I can wear it where I'm "required" to wear one and it hides my smile as I breath normally around it...
I was in the local grocery yesterday and about half of us weren’t masked.
The hardware store was more like 75%.
People in the mountains are fed-up with this crap.

When are our Bureaucrats going to wake up and read the Scientific studies that prove Masks cannot stop the transmission of the Virus and as such are absolutely worthless for the General Public?
Much like Washington state with the western city socialists and the same eastern half, here in Colorado we have the front range socialist section and the rational western slope and eastern Plains.
In both cases the socialists have the leftist populations to tilt the elections.
Wouldn’t it be wild if we selected winners by area instead of by population density.
The more people who are convinced to wear a mask, the more often your rare scenario will happen. I don'l like coersion, but I'm ok if it leads to a backlash. But I would suggest that everyone who can should wear a mask for now. I recommend the bluish disposable masks although that is based on breathability not efficacy. I have no idea how effective they are.
There's no proof of anything in any study because studies provide evidence, not proof. There is evidence that masks work in many studies. There is evidence that surgical masks are less effective and that cloth masks are least effective. There is no mask of any sort that stops all viruses. But that's not necessary. The only question is whether the mask being used stops enough droplets to be effective in a particular scenario.
Oh hell, they’re too lazy to read the manufacturers warning on the box. Im not sure they could comprehend a medical journal.
“There is evidence that Masks work in many studies”...AND, there is evidence that Masks DON’T work in many studies. If You recall, back in March Fauchi and the Surgeon General both said that Masks do not prevent the transmission of the Virus. They changes their minds under bureaucratic pressure a month and one half later. The emphasis on closures, Masks and the phony statistics that the media bleeps every day are nothing more than efforts to suppress the economy and hurt Trump.
They are not effective and lead to a false sense of security and excessive smugness. Why would you recommend people submit like sheep to an ineffective tyrannical order? Particularly if you dont believe they help either?
As for "submitting like sheep" the question is whether I should stand up and be counted as a mask refuser or wear one. But those aren't the only two choices. People can stay home and kill the economy. I refuse to stay home and kill the economy. The argument that masks harm the economy is the most spurious argument I have ever heard but hear it over and over.
what if the more than nothing they do are harmful rather than helpful? They harbor and may spread more infection than they stop They certainly spread fear and smugness. They are uncomfortable and people will shop less often or browse less long if wearing one
People will shop more often if they feel they have some protection, particularly a variety of stores, mulriple stores, instead of limiting shopping as people have been doing. And as for spreading fear, that argument gets weaker by the day as masks become routine.
