....substitute “The United States of America” for
“Madam France”.....we are seeing much the same thing
here now, aren’t we...?? “Send me your tired, your
poor, your huddled masses yearning to be free...” or
whatever those words are on the statue of Liberty, and
what do we get...we get the Ilhan Omar brand of immigrant....
Those words were written by a private citizen to raise money for the base to put the statue on. They had and have nothing to do with the United States government.
The Statue of Liberty was intended by its French artist and those who supported it as a tribute to America’s freeing of its slaves. As is so often the case, the Left reset the meaning of the Statue of Liberty by applying as an inscription Emma Lazarus’s tribute to mass immigration. In that manner, Republican-leaning Black voters were displaced by Democrat-leaning immigrants, both figuratively and literally.
