By HNN Staff | July 17, 2020 at 4:13 PM HST - Updated July 17 at 4:27 PM HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - The state said at least 182 people have been arrested so far in the islands for violating the 14-day mandatory quarantine for all incoming travelers.

The figure does not include the total number arrested by the Honolulu Police Department.

In a supplemental emergency proclamation signed Friday, the governor extended the quarantine through August, as he previously announced he would do.

The mandate was issued in late March.

The penalty for leaving your quarantine room is a $5,000 fine and one year in prison. Community groups help the police track down and arrest quarantine breakers.

Tourists won’t forget this. I hope Hawaiian tourism NEVER recovers from this tyranny against visitors.

Tell them you are rioting and want to paint BLM of the street and they will let you go.Or run into a business and steal something and you’ll be fine.

Guess that pretty much quashes tourism and their housing market. I'd be surprised is the state government would not fall due to the lost revenue since their economy is based on those two things.

But no one wants to think of these things in a DemoKratic State like this.

Add the hawaiian government to the list of enemies to the US Constitution.

I've been to Hawaii several times, for both vacation and for business.

One of the things that I learned was that many non-white native Hawaiians don't like whites. I mean, really don't like whites.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kill_Haole_Day

The term for whites in Hawaii is Haole (pronounced How-Lee or How-Leh).

Many natives have contempt for whites bordering on hard racism (except for their tourist dollars).

A friend told he had to move and take his children out of their school, because the native kids were tormenting them. The teachers and staff refused to do anything, even though they knew what was going on. Good luck getting the police involved.

In Hawaiian politics and government, natives are a protected class and enjoy privileges that would be considered civil rights violations if they applied to non-whites.

70% are deficient in vitamin D, a vitamin needed for a healthy immune system but all the central planners can think about is quarentines, lock downs, mandatory face masks,... If they know about this deficiency problem , would they tell us?

Big Island or rather some parts are very conservative, very much not like Oahu. Its where I would live, unlike Oahu thats crowded, terrible traffic, expensive and lately becoming like North Korea.

We have property on the Big Island. Been going there for many years. Yeah it exists but I’ve never experienced it. We walked right onto a compound and the guy came out and offered to show us around. Hawaiian sovereignty literature everywhere.

I am in Alaska, my real only bitch is the long winter. But considering that its probably the better state to live in.
Just stay away from Anchorage. I would very much like to homestead a lot on the Big Island. Not that expensive unless you are really picky about the surroundings, some lava lots are pretty cheap but...you will be living in a possible lava zone, no trees, just rock.

After that I like Florida, out in the central country part.

Why doesn’t President Trump speak about vitamin D? Or Vice President Pence? Or Republican governors who want to open up the economy? Isn’t it in their interest to alleviate the fear? I can understand that the pharmaceutical industry is afraid of losing money if people become too healthy, but every other sector of the economy will benefit.
