With the country of Russia and the USA the doctrine of Mutually Assured Destruction still exists.
Russia is not run by a bunch of psycho fundamentalist Islamists.
They will NOT fire their ICBM’s on us and we would not do the same..

What the heck does GDP have to do with it? Nothing! As someone else pointed out Japan’s GDP was much smaller than ours in 1941 when they sunk a good portion of our naval fleet in the pacific. It took us years to win that fight and thousands of American lives. GDP did not make one bit of difference and it does not now when it comes to Russia. Their GDP did not stop them from marching in and taking over Crimea — which no one even attempted to stop.
It is a good thing you are not an American military leader!
