The AP — all the wire services — are violations of the Sherman AntiTrust Act of 1890. That’s been obvious since 1890, but they were “too big to fail” as long as their mission - the conservation of expensive telegraphy bandwidth in the dissemination of the new––endured.

But in the Internet age, “expensive” is not a description of "telegraphy bandwidth." So in that sense, yeah––they are criminal. They have the effect of politically homogenizing journalism.

It took half a century, but the fatuous New York Times Co. v. Sullivan decision––which prevents Republicans from winning vindication in court when they are libeled by Journalcrats––has created “the media” in its increasingly virulent form.
