The author misrepresents at least one of the studies he cites.

“Meta-analysis of observational studies provided evidence of a protective effect of masks (OR = 0.13; 95% CI: 0.03–0.62) and respirators (OR = 0.12; 95% CI: 0.06–0.26) against severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS).”

Wow - nice attention to detail. I did not catch that at all...

There is some evidence of mask effectiveness vs SARS. Is that right?

I'm not sure what you think that math means. To me, it simply means that surgical masks and N95 respirators perform almost exactly the same, neither work.
