At the trial, if there ever is one, the medical experts hired by the defense will explain it all.

And the medical experts testifying for the prosecution will say that kneeling on Floyd's neck for seven or eight minutes was a contributing cause of his death. And the question then becomes would Floyd have died there without the officer's actions or would he likely have survived, at least for a while. The answer to that will determine whether the former officer is convicted or not.

When it is beneficial to use proportion - when the malfeasance of blacks (as a whole) can be diluted by the fact that they comprise only 13-14% of all Americans - then the press uses the diluted statistics. When discussing the crime rate, where 13-14% of the population commits over 50% of the crime, the press ignores proportionality.

If the press can ever smear a conservative by reversing these viewpoints, they will do so in less than a heartbeat.

When I taught at a black high school, I would ask my students to estimate the ethnic breakdown of the U.S. These were urban DC kids, most living in all-black areas.

These numbers would vary, but generally they'd tell me that blacks constituted 30-50% of the population, latins 10-20%, whites 30-50%, and Jews 10-20%.

Their mouths would gape when I told them the real numbers.

There's a clue for you as to why "proportionality" is so misunderstood.
