Unfortunately, the numbers from the hospitals will be questionable given that it appears almost every bed and death imaginable will be counted as Covid incident. Why? Hospital revenues are down since elective surgery has been postponed. Hospitals are making up the revenue shortfall by billing the Feds for Covid treatment.
Remember the army Corps of engineers built a 2,000 bed facility in the Javitts Convention Center in NY City... it was never used. The 1,000 bed NAVY hospital ship Mercy was sent to NY City, it was not used either. All the Covid “patients” were bedded down in hospitals. NY City Mayor DeBlasio scent infested patients to nursing homes instead of to Javitts and the hospital ship. Thousands of old people caught the virus and died.

I heard Rush today talk about 300 hospitals and or labs In FLA had 100% COVID 19 Positive testing results. Desantis, the Gov should order a criminal investigation of these hospitals and labs.

I’m a bit confused. The CDC is an agency in the federal government. What I think I am reading between the lines from this story is that there is a great deal of political maneuvering and posturing between various branches and agencies. Turf war, if you will. The White House wants direct access to the data. And there is good reason for that since these agencies do fall under the Executive, they need the data to give proper instructions to the agencies.
It’s sickening that we have all these agencies that are funded to the tens of billions every year and they weren’t prepared for the inevitable black swan of a pandemic - even after swine flu, bird flu, sars, etc. We’re not talking Spanish flu this is all recent memory stuff. Being prepared for this is their fargin’ mission! But they never replenished their inventories of supplies!
Then, you have them battling against HCQ which clearly does work well at least when given to people early after diagnosis or onset of first symptoms. Waiting until people are in the ICU to treat covid is like waiting for cancer to metastasize before treating it. I can’t believe all the things that are going on and really only one man working overtime to keep it all from falling apart. Governor Cuomo was yelling for 40,000 ventilators... 80% of people on ventilators for covid die. Where’s the science? You could argue it does more harm than good with that statistic.

It won’t make any difference except for the time and funds spent on the federal government. Many private and public organizations are collecting the data directly from counties and hospitals and making the information public.

I have no sense that we have a surge at all...true...we have a few more patients but they are on the medical floor, very few needing ICU...and there is a backload of trying to get the confused/demented/frail elderly into nursing homes once they've had covid...nursing homes won't admit them and families are not taking them home....
again, out and about, I sense no panic, no surge.....lots of traffic on the roads and in the stores...
