A typical building will have one security cameras that are watching upwards of hundreds of cameras. He can’t possibly watch them all, even if he were very devoted.

Watching security cameras on a screen is one of the most excruciatingly boring things one can possibly do.

And motion detection software generates so many false positives as to be almost useless, especially on outdoor cameras.

One of my hats is building security, so I have 80 feeds into my office on 4 monitors. I don't watch it, no one does. They record 24/7 because motion detection is so horrendous. I've got 76TB of disks recording.

I also have systems at both my homes.

Just because I am not normally at my Florida Home, I installed a NEST Hello(I also have 6 other traditional cams on an NVR). The NEST constantly uploads to google and I assume a supercomputer watchdog looks at it. It gets the motion right, every single time. It detects people correctly and ignores trees, bugs, squirrels, etc. It is pretty amazing and did not require me spending hours masking out motion space and tweaking sensitivity.
