LOL - here in my neck of the woods they are just ignoring the mask orders. As I walked into Sam’s Club the door was plastered with dozens of “you must wear a mask to enter these premises” signs. Once I got in I immediately saw that virtually nobody was wearing a mask - not even employees. It’s like they took the position that “ok, we’ll put up your sign but it’s up to you to enforce it - we don’t care.” And nobody bothered to regard it. Same with the gym I go to. Southside of Indy is hard stock. We don’t cotton to people telling us how to live our lives. In fact it downright pisses us off.
I’m in IL and it’s been mandatory here since perhaps May 1? Not by Gov. Prickster mandate but store policy, maybe it goes by regions? Anyhow that’s what Wally people announced, and they have someone at the door who prevents anyone from going in without face covering and only when the person ahead has got their pre-sanitized cart and moved into the store.
Other big box stores and all grocery stores have the same policy, so for me it’s a matter of convenience to comply rather than incur the time and expense of driving an hour or more to a store that doesn’t. Have to say I like your southside Indy attitude and wish it was more common ;-) But here the Karens are plentiful - they’re the ones you see driving their own car, one occupant, wearing a mask...
+1 from a west sider. I figure if they want to accept the expense of providing me a free mask ( like the airlines and , just today , a Panera in Jefferson I’ll) then ok. Otherwise I go with a alternative
