Many here have labeled me a Fearper, but I do agree Fauci is out of line.
Fwiw here is my view:
—The death rate for young people is very low—that is a fact—and Fauci has no business comparing it to the 1918 Flu which devastated young people.
—The lockdowns are overkill for that reason.
—That said, this is _not_ a nothingburger like many Freepers seem to believe.
—There are studies that indicate that, unlike the flu, this virus can cause lasting significant damage to the heart and lungs for anyone who gets it—not a good thing—you really don’t want to get this virus if you can avoid it. The damage won’t kill you, but it might be enough to keep you from participating in your favorite outdoor hobbies or sports.
—There are also indications that herd immunity will not be possible since the antibodies don’t stick around for very long—it looks like no more than a few months for most people.
—That also means a vaccine is unlikely.
While many politicians are over-reacting, and Freepers are correct in calling them out on it, it is also a mistake to take this virus too lightly.
You really do not want to get this thing.
I think most people had it but didn't realize they had it because they had no symptoms.
I 100% agree with everything you said. Lockdowns are overkill, but masks are probably prudent, considering the really severe consequences of catching this virus.

You seem to consider yourself ‘informed’. If you are as informed as you seem to think, why is it you have not heard or otherwise appear to not know of the existence of a therapeutic cure and prevention treatment that is very inexpensive?
